International News: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with US President Donald Trump at the White House. During the meeting, Zelensky thanked Trump for the recent Gaza ceasefire and the release of Israeli hostages. He also requested Trump’s help to stop the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelensky handed over a list of weapons to Trump, including Patriot missiles, Tomahawk missiles, and F-16 fighter jets. However, Trump did not agree to provide any of these weapons to Ukraine. He also indicated that he would not approve the sale of long-range missiles to Ukraine.

Zelensky Meets Trump at the White House

Zelensky arrived at the White House with his top aides for a lunch meeting with Trump to discuss the latest developments. The day before, Trump had a long phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which the war was a major topic. At the start of the meeting, Zelensky congratulated Trump on the recent Gaza ceasefire and hostage agreement. He said that now Trump has a significant opportunity to help end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Zelensky Appeals for Ceasefire

Zelensky told Trump, “You now have a big chance to end this war.” Recently, Trump had shown willingness to sell Ukraine long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles. However, Putin had warned that such a move could increase tensions between the US and Russia. Zelensky urged Trump to consider steps that could help stop the ongoing conflict and strengthen peace efforts.

Meetings with Defence Companies

Before meeting Trump, Zelensky met with representatives from US defense company Raytheon, which manufactures Tomahawk missiles and Patriot systems—both urgently needed by Ukraine. Zelensky said on Telegram, “I met representatives of Raytheon, who make systems including Patriot missiles.” He added that the discussion focused on US-Ukraine cooperation to strengthen Ukrainian air defense. Zelensky also met with officials from Lockheed Martin, the company that makes F-16 fighter jets, to discuss military support for Ukraine.
